Default 2009 Softail Custom question

Hi all, Hey would some one be kind enough to help a new HDForum member get to the right area? I have a 2009 FXSTC and mainly just want to look and listen to others discuss the model and year. I have a few questions regarding cam position sensor problems and saddle bag questions.

Thanks in advance

Yea newbie mistake sorry. Anyone have problems with the cam position sensor? When I went for my 1000 mile tune-up I was told they had to replace my cam position sensor. I had noticed that some times while trying to start the bike it would not start and actually sound like the pistion was stopped hard in the head. Now she is doing it again. Additionally, the bike wont start unless its in neutral, I thought it started with the clutch engaged?

with the only starting in neutral. I had a Shadow where the clutch safety switch went out so then the only way it would start was in neutral. So even though you have the clutch in the override switch may not be working so the bike "thinks" your still in gear

Agreed! Nice looking bike.
I've had the same problem with the it only starting in neutral. Off and on, though. But since I like that as a 'feature' I'm not worried about it.

I got some saddle bags from HD for the FXSTC but decided I liked the look of the bobtail a whole hecka lot more. I took the bags off so you could see the fender and sold 'em and went to a tour bag from Kuryakyn. Just thought I'd pass on my preferences.

Bike should start in gear with the clutch lever pulled in....
Not sure on the CPS...

I would think both issues could be taken care of under the bikes factory warranty
