Under the dash the red and gray wire on my bike from the ignition switch. My bike is an 02 so I do not know if the colors are different on your bike.

Look at the big harness of wires under the seat on the right side. Find and orange wire with a white stripe. That's what I used to power an amplifier for my music. It's a switched wire...

It's one wire I'm refering to. It's orange with a white stripe. It is a 12 volt positive wire that switches on with the ignition switch on.

For a negative, you can wire it straight to the negative terminal on the battery itself.

No prob... I used a scotchlock connector like this. Make sure you keep both sides of the wire connected and just 'tap in' to the wire. I can't remember what it powers, maybe a rear light. It's been awhile since I've done it. My bike is an '09 so based on the year of your bike, the wiring could possibly be different. Good luck!!!

These make this job very easy. Used the same thing...but it's blue. LOL.
