So, I posted another thread earlier asking for a good vendor for custom wheels and decided to see what Dr Vtwin can do for me. Anyhow, now I'm wanting to get some trusted opinions on if I should go with all chrome or contrast for the wheels and who better to ask than you guys. Anyhow, my bike is vivid black as you can see, but I plan on adding a lot of red into the scheme (probably red flames with red smoke) which will obviously add a lot of red to the color and will change the overall appearance. Taking this into account, do ya'll think the all chrome wheels would look better or contrast? I just completely lack in the visualization department to imagine what they're going to look like. Thanks for all the help.
It is very difficult to say without seeing exactly what is going to be done to the bike. As it is now contrast cut, if the bike was all red, chrome. A combo of both? I don't know.
Don't know if this helps or not, but here is my bike with Contrast Cut Wheels from HogPro. 2006 Softail Standard painted in Denim Black. I honestly think either way you decide the bike will look great.
For what it's worth my opinion is paint done and finished then look at the wheel situation .... wheels like paint can make or break the look ..... the sum of the part's makes the whole ...... if ya got it goin on paint wise ya dont want to be too busy in the wheels design .... ya want it to add not rob ..... so what do i think .... part 1 first ... part 2 .... Chrome .... like oxygen brings things alive
Ok, so here's the basic paint scheme I was planning to go with. I was thinking black flames with the red smoke accent. As you can see, it will basically make the bike red instead of black. I'm not set on this. I'm going to get with a painter on leave and see what kind of ideas he can come up with but it's what I have for now.
DevilDogg ..... Readin your post and between the lines ..... you still dont know where ya headin with this project 100% ..... One at a time ...... 1 paint .... 2 wheels ....
You're right. I'm not 100% sure. I know specific things I'm definitely going to do but the paint, wheels, and even the tank I'm not 100% sure about yet. Guess I'll follow the advise and hold off on the wheels until I can get a painted to come up with some ideas. I'm just trying to have it all done and ready for me when I get back to the states so trying to do it all at once.

Nicest Standard I've ever seen! Very nice!
I love contrast cut stuff. My next bike will probably go that way, but like Dr. V said, it depends on what the end result will be.
