Default Fatboy lo risers

Looking for others who have installed 4-6" pullback risers for their Fatboy lo's.

I tried to order some 4" from my local dealer, but of course they are backordered and it doesn't look like I can get them anytime soon.

My questions are will 5 or 6 inchers work without having to replace cables, brake lines, etc? If so, where can I find them other than the dealer?

If not, where can I find some 4 inchers?

These bars are terrible.... At least for us short armed folks

I looked into those originally. Found out they only give you 1-2" of actual pullback. I went with new bars that gave me A LOT more pullback. I did have to change out the cables...but being that I'm with you in that "short armed" category... it was soooooooooo worth it.

New bars would be my first choice, but the dealer told me a grand to change them out and the bars were only $150 of that price. How many hours did it take you (or whoever did the job) to change them out?

Btw, I have the same pipes and love em!

Yup...it wasn't cheap. Cost about $750 for the parts, including new grips. Also, I bought it all on a "double VIP" day so that's like getting 20% off the $750. Dealer was 9 hours of labor. If you know someone that's done the internal wiring before, buy him a BIG steak dinner to do it for you. Spending $200 on a buddy will save you $600 more at the dealer.

Pipes are perfect. I've got the V&H QB's in there too so the pitch is all Harley and nothing else.

How much pullback and rise do your bars have? Do you have a part number for reference? I am wanting as much pullback and rise as I can get without changing the cables.... leaning towards bars at this point. Did the QB's on the V&H make a big difference or did you not hear them with the standard baffle?

Tks for the help

My local Harley mechanic quoted me 3 to 4 hours labor at 45 per hour to change the bars. I don't know where HD dealer gets 9 hours labor from.

And yes he is HD certified mechanic did fleet maintenance for local police department before going into business for himself 10 years ago.

Was that for a bike with internal wiring in the bars?

Yes, that was for changing out my bars on my 2010 Fatboy Lo to a pair of street slammer bars. I have decided to go with the 4 inch risers instead to avoid changing out all the cables.

He did say if I had to change out the cables for the street slammers it would be an additional 2 or 3 hours labor but still that's only 7 hours labor on worse case scenario. A little closer to the dealer quote however with the cable change.

Yup. Mine was 9 hours for the internal wiring of the bars as well. But they charge $90 an hour here.
