Yeah, you need to turn the bike completely upside down and then shake it back and forth. Sometimes it takes a lot of shaking to get it all out.

I have heard of folks running dry........If the bike was cold, it takes awhile for the oil to drain......make sure there is nothing pluging the drain hole....just let it sit for awhile and see if the puddle or, pan gets alittle more full.

I'll bet you took one of the casting plugs out of the bottom of the engine.....Only about 8 oz of oil came out, right? If so, that's not where you drain the oil on a TC Softail. The oil drain plug is in the on the right side of the frame where the frame and swing arm meet. You take it out with a 5/8 socket.

If you are going to be doing routine maintainance, you really need to get a service manual.

While we are on the subject...
Just bought used 2004 Deuce, have the owners manual but no service manual yet...it is ordered.
As I did in Sportster, I'll use 20W50 Amsoil as engine oil and primary chain case oil. But I am not clear on "transmission" lubricant. As you all know, maunal calls for various Harley products by number.
Is 20W50 syn good for all three spots, or should transmission get something else.
