Ok, I got a new speedo/tach combo I'm going to install on my fatboy. When I tried to loosen the acorn nut that holds the console on, the bolt started turning on the inside. Anyone had this happen before? Any suggestions? I don't have enough room to stick anything under the edge of the console to try to hold the bolt from turning.

That doesn't work, the bolt on the inside just spins.

does that maybe come out the bottom side of the tank? And you could just lift it up to get at the bottom side of the bolt? That's probably no help, I'm just guessing...

is it loose enough to get a flat tip under the acorn nut? If so, slip it under and apply upward pressure on the acorn nut while you use a box end wrench to remove it....that worked for me

Do you have enough room to tape the top of the console with duct tape, and then to slide a hack saw blade between the nut and console? Hold the nut with a pair of vice grips..Good luck..

Got the dremel out with a cutoff wheel. We'll see how that works.
