I see many on Ebay, though I have read they get married to the VIN.
I have messaged many sellers asking if they are Married but get no reply, I guess that is my answer lol.
Seems like most are third party sellers and they don't know.
My question is, however, is there any way around this?
A reset or even from the Manuf? or is it completely useless?
Sorry but it's useless without the matching ECM. Best to do what you are doing... stay away from "used" SERT, SEST and TTS modules. I'm sure the manufacturer will reset them for the price of new.(if you get my drift)
About two months ago I bought one and it was fine...still in the sealed box. I bought it from "Frontier HD" out of tacoma, wa. I called the guy up to verify that it had not been connected and that I would be sending it back for a refund if it was, he guaranteed it. I picked it up for 290.
I saw a seller on ebay a few days ago (brassmonkey I think) was selling the new SE Super Tuners for $265 shipped. There were sealed in box with the correct part number.
