I found this cable kit for for Softails with apes on ebay. I'm thinking of picking it up since my kit is backordered on J&P. What do you guys think? Should be good with my 16" apes right? Thanks for any help.
I've used a bunch of the LA Chopper bagger kits over the last year, these softail ones are a new edition to their line of cable kits as far as I know. I used a kit for a set of 12" apes last week and it went together nice. Just my .02......
If you know how long the cables, and brake line are that you need I would give Magnum a call to see how much they want for their Sterling Chromite II's.
They make some of the best cables around and are one of the the suppliers Harley gets their Diamondback cables from.
Magnum sells the Harley Diamondback under their own name of Sterling Chromite II.
The nice part of getting them from Magnum instead of Harley, besides being cheaper, is that the clutch cable is all braided while the Diamondbacks clutch cable is only braided down to the adjuster. Its the same stock looking black rubber coated cable from there to the trans cover.
Thanks Memo, I went with 12's cuz I was blessed with arms like a T-Rex, and Im a staggering 5'6". I rode my buddy's scoot with 14's and I was really uncomfortable. Man if I could stretch my arms out somehow I would go taller. LOL
