I've been lusting after a Cross Bones for the past couple years and Friday my incredibly awesome wife calls to tell me there's one on ebay with an hour left that I should pursue. She's been going with me to the various dealers for this whole time while I looked. It had 6300 miles on it and pretty much every accessory you can add (V&H Short Shots, windscreen and bag, saddlebags, mustache crash bar, different front seat, rear seat, sissy bar, smoked lenses and the complete ***** G collection). Called the shop near Nashville that had it and struck a deal. Drove up yesterday, picked it up this morning. Whoever owned this before took great care of it as it was like brand new. Paid $12,700, which is quite a bit less than any others I've found. Dark blue, my color of choice also. Will post up some pics tomorrow after I clean it up from it's ride home (in the back of the truck). Oh, the pipes are way too loud for me, so will have to find some stock pipes that I can add Rhinehart slip ons.

A springer softtail was the first Harley I ever rode, about twenty years ago. Enjoyed riding the bones around the parking lot and look forward to years of riding fun on it.

Oh, did I say how incredibly awesome my wife was for finding this for me?

Have to find a way to change my user name now.

Congrats on the new ride, your going to love it.
And make sure you do something extra special for the Mrs., she deserves it.

As for the name thing, PM Terry1955, he's the head Admin and I believe he can fix it for you.
You just have to think up a new one that's a bit more appropriate.

Thanks for the congrats! Firemed, agree about two great wifes.

Thanks Citoriplus for the tip on changing my username..

Got the bones cleaned up this morning. Have to do some detailing but generally looks pretty good. Also have to get a new rear tire before too long but I love buying used bikes that have almost all the mods I would have done. Not sure I'lll keep the skulls, will have to see if they grow on me.

Look forward to hanging out in the Softtail forum.

I forgot you didn't like the loud pipes, but rather than change the pipes, and spend a lot of money doing it.
The pipes you have look nice as is, so why not at least look into getting new quieter baffles for the ones you have?
I know there is at least one company that makes replacement baffles for pipes, the name escapes me right now but I'm sure someone can supply it for you.
