Default Bitch time

Sorry have to bitch for a minute. I was at Atlanta HD getting an overpriced oil filter. I took a second to walk around the used bikes and some dumbass salesman was talking to a customer and was badmouthing the two EVO Dynas parked out there. He was saying how they are not good for anything but a quick ride. Of course all he wanted was the guy to buy a higher priced newer twin cam. I made a comment about how EVO's are good bikes and he shot right back at me. What a jackass. Look I drive a twin cam and they are great bikes but don't bad mouth some good HD history. And if I had my choice give me a good FXRS from the early 90's anyday.

Okay I am over it now

A+ I still regret selling my '91 FXRS ... kept it for 13 years. Great bike that was.

Give the guy a break, he is only trying to make a living. Yes he's wrong for sure but all dealers have sales quotas

Know someone with a 99 Heritage Springer with that engine. 110,000 Miles before he had to have it rebuilt.

Vehicle sales is brutal - glad I never had to work this profession. I'd get tired of all the lies & bending people over...

It's sad that our society revolves around money, as severely as it does... instead of an honest sale. I'm not saying that a salesman should not express his opinion, but that's all it is, an opinion. If the customer was interested in a Dyna, then that's what he should show him. Offer the customer an option of a Softail or Touring model, but don't "Force" him into another bike, just for a couple dollars in his pocket. Offer the customer all the facts on the different model lines, with their strengths and weaknesses. Just my $.02!

Imagine him coming you your workplace and interrupting you, while trying to make a living. "That's not right, blah, blah,..."

Gotta say, I kind of agree! It's their job to make the most money possible both for themselves AND for the company!!! We usually don't like salesmen when they do things like that but you have to respect the fact that it's their job. Sell the most expensive bike possible!!!....Period!

Folks need to go into these sales only AFTER having done their own homework on the product they're interested in purchasing. It's called "Buyer Beware." It's also common sense that you certainly can't expect a salesman to be completely honest with you.....really.

FWIW, to the OP......I don't know why you call him a jackass because he fired back at you only AFTER you so rudely interrupted his sale. I would have fired back too! I don't agree with the lies and fabrications but that's the nature of that business and most intelligent folks know that. Again, it's why you do your own homework! It's also certainly NOT your place nor mine to walk up in the middle of a possible sale, interrupt their conversation and give your opinion. JMHO
