Hi all, have had my 2005 Heritage for about 2 weeks now and am tired of getting run off the road cause I can't be heard. Was wondering if anyone can give me any info on the cycle shack slip ons. I am more concerned about making some noise than I am about performance, although if they give some performance gains, I wouldn't mind. Also If I do go with just the slip ons and am not concerned with performance do I have to remap and put a new air kit on??
Howdy JR I don't know what to tell you about the cycle shack slip ons. When I got my Harley, I had them do the exhaust thing right there before I took it home. All the work was under warranty and I got it out of the way. I did the complete stage 1 with remap and I amy happy with the results. Good luck on getting the sound that you want.
I had an '05 Heritage for a while. I ended up with the Stage 1 and re-map plus I put on a set of Pythons 2 into 1. No problem being heard after that! I'm with Springer! Have the dealer dealer do it for you.
Bought my '05 Heritage used and it has the SEII slip-ons. Nice loud rumble, loud enough for me and I think not terribly pricey through the dealer (keeps that warranty intact).
Slip on's without mapping (EFI) or rejetting will result in a lean mixture (hot engine and more problems than you want) Spend the $10 on HD jets (do it your self) or $150 for the remap (EFI)(Stuck with HD doing the remap) Loud isn't worth holes in the pistons.... Don't risk it... If you are going to do it, do the full Stage 1 upgrade (pipes,HF air, and jets/remap) Doc
My dealer wouldn't do it. He said that I would have to wait till the first service. Guess he just wanted to make sure he got some more money out of me.

Mine did the stage 1 upgrade for me before I took posession of the new bike. He worked the price of it into my financing too...
We did Samson True Duals, Stage 1 and Chrome before taking delivery...and he gave me a little (and I do mean little) break on the labor over another dealer to do it all at once prior to delivery.
