There's a chance I might have to sell my new bike which is a 2006 standard softail with the 200mm back-end.
I'm trying to figure out what it's worth...
The on-road cost was AU$27,000 + $AU1200 accessories so bike owes a total of about AU$28,000
It's only done 3000kms so is virtually new.
What price should I ask on the private market?
Gombul, sorry to hear you may have to sell your ride.
In the last Motorcycle Trader (Aug-Sept) there was a brand new one at Blacktown HD going for AU$24,250 + ORC, and Heavy Duty Motorcycles in Q'land had an '03 anniversary low kilometer with the usual mods for AU$22,990 + ORC. You don't normally get much more for the extras, just makes the sale a bit sweeter. This may give you a bit of a guide.
Yeah mine was 24,250 + ORC which comes to about 27,000. So if someone is going to pay 27 to ride a new one away, what is fair for a 'near-new'. I would have thought 24 but not really sure... There's also the problem of bigger CC for 07 models - does this make it more important to get rid of it ASAP (rathar than waiting 6 months)? I'm not forced to sell right away but want to time it right to get the best I can.
With summer around the corner here in Oz and not many Standards offered on the market may be to your advantage. What the bigger cube '07 are going to do to the prices six months down the track is anyones guess, wish I had a crystal ball.
