I posted a few weeks back about my wife buying me an 08 Crossbones (6,300 miles) and have been working to get it the way I want it. Sold the V&H Short Shots that were on it and have stock pipes back on (thanks to one of the forum members whom I deleted the PM and can't thank personally now). I actually like the sound of the stock pipes...not too loud and not too quiet.
Also took the time to do a 5,000 mile service yesterday since I wasn't sure of the service history. Probably a good thing I did. Not sure that the previous owner had it done given the condition of the oils and spark plugs. Have everything done now but need to service the front end as it squeaks some when compressing the front end and releasing. Once I get that done, hopefully by the end of next weekend, I'll have a like new bike again.
Wanted to say thanks to the softtail community. Found lots of helpful info while getting to know my new bike and make sure it was road ready. Registering it today and can't wait to start riding it.
