I just installed the SE intake and fuelpak lastnight and all I can say is wow what a difference. But here is my question. 10 fatboy lo with SE intake Fuelpak and shortshots no baffle and I am wanting to go ahead and change plugs while I am at it. I have heard good things about the E3 and NGK plugs do you guys have an opinion? Also I noticed the NGK comes in a stock and one step hotter plug what's preferable. And last question is once I get the plugs what do they need to be gapped to?

I have found that the standard NGK works fine for me. I think Harley gets their plugs from different makers but the NGK other then not having Harley on it is exactly the same down to the forge patterns on the hex for the Softail plug. My engine is stock. The wider gap may give a slight increase in power but you would not be able to notice or measure it in a seat of the paints kind of way. Remember that a very wide gap will shorten the life span but 2 plugs and as easy as they are to change, change them ever 5000 and enjoy the benefit. I have taken them out with a .08 gap and they were running fine (they had worn this wide--not that I had set them this way). I personally just run them forever till they look like crap on the outside. I have had fowling and mis fire problems with the tipped type fancy plugs in car. Never tried them in a motorcycle. Probably only reason I use NGK it my Harley dealer is 30 miles away and the AutoZone is up the street. Price is same for the plug.

I think you are actually right. I was told by friend who was a mechanic about NGK's that it stood for No Good kind. Oh well, I guess I am running them now. LOL.
