I prefer the plastic fasteners over full length straps. Aren't the Heritage bags made with the hidden fasteners also? I'm sure they went with that type because of customer feedback, not because of savings over a couple more inches of leather. My guess is they are a added cost vs. just a longer strap.

Those are definnately not fake clips on the Leatherworks. When I ordered mine I was skeptical at first over the plastic clips but they are heavy duty and I go in and out of the bag so much that I couldn't imagine haveing to unbuckle everytime. I have reached down at a stoplight before to get something out. Try that on the buckles.
