Default Differences in HD bags?

I see in the P&A catalog that there are detachable bags for the Fatboy, non-detachables for the Fatboy, and non-detachables for Softail (including Fatboy, I think?).

My dealer doesn't have these things lying around and I like to play with them before I order. Does anyone have first hand experience and know the key differences between these bags? Obviously the detachable ones are made to pop off, but otherwise, in terms of space, installation, and so on, any assistance would be welcome. I am leaning toward the detachables as I like the idea of being able to run without bags, but how hard is it to uninstall the 'regular' ones? Plus the detachables look sort of small...any pics welcome as well.

Thanks in advance folks. Cheers!
