Turn signal HELP!!!
I bought a 2004 Night Train with an aftermarket rear fender and custom side-mount license plate bracket / stop light.
The previous owner also disconnected and removed the turn signals and now I am getting ready to put new ones on.
There is a group of six wires going to the rear of the bike. Two of them (orange with white stripe and red with yellow stripe) go to the black and green wires from the new aftermarket tail light.
The remaining four wires (Blue, Black, Purple and Brown) have been cut and aren't conected to anything. I am assuming that these are the wires for the rear signals.
I have the wiring diagrams for the bike and to be honest, its all greek to me... I also tried grounding the black wire from my test light and touching the red wire from my test light to each of these wires (with the signals blinking) and nothing happened. Am I doing this wrong? (Most likely...)
Can anyone tell me which wire are for what and what else I can do to determine which wire is for which signal so Im ready to go when the actual signals show up in the mail?
THANKS DUDES!!!
Thanks for the input man!
Figured it all out. Blue is running lights (constant power), black for me was ground. Purple is left signal and brown is right signal.
I ALSO FIGURED OUT THAT A RESIDENTIAL USE TEST LIGHT DOESNT WORK ON 12V SYSTEMS HAHAHA...
Picked up a 12V light today and the rest is happy history...
Thanks!
