Default 2-stroke oil in fuel

I kmow this might sound stupid to some but has anyone ever added any 2-stroke oil to your gas, im talking just a small amount here. My reason for asking is i use it in my cummins diesel, about 1-2 liters a tank and it runs alot smoother, runs quieter and gets way better fuel milage. my diesel mecanic told me about it and said it wont hurt anything, it lubricates the fuel system and the stuff is ment to burn anyway so it wont cause any build up, i know these are 2 totally different engines but just wondering if anyone has tried it and noticed a difference in smoother idle and fuel milage, and ive also used a little in 4-stroke motocross bikes and it made a little difference too.

I wouldn't, if you have a fuel injected bike it might screw up the sensors and the injectors in the system and will probably make your bike smoke a bit. If you have a lot of mileage on the bike use a good fuel additive designed to clean the system.

2 stroke oil is used in gas to provide additional lubrication to the motor not as a gas enhancement. Don't think HD would cover any damage if your adding it, and it probably didn't didn't hurt the diesel engine because they run a lot higher compression than you'll ever see on an HD. Just my .02

Plenty of guys run Marvel Mystery Oil to reap the same benefits as you mention the two stroke oil to have. I ran a cap full in my Shovels quite frequently, but never tried the two stroke oil.

I have never thought about that. Mine is a Harley, not a Husqvarna.

ive actually looked into this a little more because it worked so well in my truck, ive talked to a few guys who have ran 2-stroke oil in the 07 and newer harleys with efi and thay said they ran smoother and idled better, no more than an ounce per tank and ashless TCW-3 oil. I know some people will think this is stupid but the oil is a great upper cylinder lube and has detergents in it to also clean out deposits, ill try this in the spring and post results.

I bought a 97 Dodge/Cummins brand new. I still have it, 340k on it now, just one less thing to worry about, best vehicle I ever owned. It runs better with a bottle of veggie oil in the fuel. Peanut, canola, corn, doesn't matter, and it keeps the old mechanical pump lubed, which is good with the drier diesel we have now. I also have a Rotax 582 aircraft engine in my ELSA. It's a 2-stroke, and I can tell you it WILL carbon up. I'd stick with a top oil-fuel system cleaner for the harley, one that cleans instead of fouls.

I have used the marvel myster oil in bikes (sport)for years. these were all carbed bikes I have not used it in anything fuel injected. I am a little interested. I would wonder if you would get any carbon build up on the ex valves? if I were to use 2 stroke oil I would use an amsoil product I have been a motocross dad for years and have tried just about every 2 stroke oil out there and amsoil dominator is the best I have found by far... I will look for the update in the spring.

I'd be worried about carbon build up too.

That, and it might affect your octane rating.

Default Two Stoke

Ge'day Crew,
Not wanting to make too big a deal of it, but, I personally beleive Two stroke oil does has a place in our rides.
An old bloke a few lifetimes ago, advised me to place only a cap or two of two stroke oil into the tank.
AFTER I had honed the bores, or sinilar engine work,Makes sense to me.
As assists to bed things in...Hmm maybe correct there.
Good Luck.
Cheers
Baloffski
