Question Another clutch adjustment question

Good Morning. I have a question for the experts before I adjust my clutch this morning (first time). After adjusting the clutch, can I check it without starting the bike? Can I just put the bike in first gear and push the bike while holding the clutch lever in? I am not sure if the motor must be running to check this.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Chief101. That is the procedure I printed out and was going to use. My question is for after the adjustment. I want to check to make sure It's not draging or ? Do I need to run the bike to check or can I just push it in 1st gear with lever in?

To be honest, I cant tell with mine not running. I always check mine by taking a short spin to see that the lever adjustment is where I want it, and that there is no slipping with the clutch. I dont think you can tell with the bike not running.

One other suggestion.....at first I was over concerned and too critical when I tried to adjust my clutch. I made it far more difficult than it actually is and worried over it too much. Follow those instructions, take a spin and I think you will be happy. Also.............as an aside, use a good quality lube in your primary and tranny and it will make a lot of difference for you.

That's what I was afraid of. It's 8 degrees where I am at right now. I think I might put this project off till spring.....
Thanks Chief101
