Default Bare Bones

I'm thinking of getting a Lapera Bare Bones seat for my 06 softail standard. My question is for anyone running this seat on their scooter. How comfortable are they and how long can you stay in the saddle? Does the seat install where the stock seat thumb screw mount is located? I typically ride a couple hundred miles per day in the summer. Thanks

Its an awesome seat, looks the best imo. I ride it a coupld hundred in the summer all the time. A lot of cats dont dig the comfort but i found no problem with it.

Mine bolted right up, haven't rode mine more than a few miles so I can't give you an honest opinion on comfort but it sure does look good.I have a 06 standard also.

I have the GEL and to be Honest don't really like it for long trips. For local rides it's awesome and LOW.

Love the seat. It does have a "Holy $%£€!!" feel the first time you ever sit on it. I'll always run this seat though. Looks good and gives you that "in the bike" feel. I routinely ride couple hundred mile days with no issues.

I love mine, when I first got it a hundred miles was a tough ride but now I do 200 + a day and feels great they seem to have to break in. Mine doesn't have gel. They also set you back another inch approx.

I have the LePera BareBones on my '06 Standard.... Can't beat the look!
I have done days of 400 miles on it....that's my limit!
I do prefer a wee break every 50-75 miles...
But no desire to get rid of it...

There are several variations available for the Bare Bones. Get ahold of a printed catalog, if you can, because it shows all the options, whereas their website does not. I didn't realize this until I took a look at the catalog they sent me with my seat. Example: for my bike, the standard Bare Bones repositions the rider down AND back about 2" and uses the next hole back in the fender from where the stock seat mounts. Then there's the Bare Bones Up Front model which, uses the same mount holes as the stock model and positions the rider lower, but not back any further. I believe there is one other variation of the BB model, but I don't have the catalog in hand to confirm that, at the moment. At any rate, I wish I would have known about the Up Front variation before I ordered my seat because that is the one I really would have wanted. Looks a lot sleeker and more minimal. So, get the catalog or have them email you about (and send pictures if possible) the model variations you are interested in for your bike, before you decide.
