Default Looking For Speakers

I'm getting tired of listening to music with headphones so I'm looking for a good kit with everything I need to put some speakers on my handlebars and plug my ipod into. I don't need anything too great, just something loud enough for me to hear and preferably in black to match my bars. Any recommendations?

I always recommend the J&M's I have. I don't think they come in black. They come with all the wiring and everything needed for the install. the thing I have found most important about speaker s for the bars is that they get loud enough for you to hear them on the highway. These J&M's do. Cycle sounds also makes some really nice bar mount speakers that I can get. I have done no first hand testing as I cannot afford another set of speakers right now.

Harley also makes the BOOM speakers that come with everything needed and Kuryakyn makes their sound of chrome speakers. Do some searching and see what you find.

Thanks Drew, I was gonna email you but I feel like I clog up your inbox too much haha. Any day now I should be ordering a screamin eagle breather once my tax money comes back.

I saw these after a google search and they come in black and look fairly low key.

I'd like to try to keep them small too, something tweeter like. Not a fan of the big round ones.

Another endorsement for the J&M amplified speakers - love mine! A bit pricey, but they work well, integrate into the handlebars, and have enough power to listen at high speeds.

Are the J&M's internally amplified or is the amp separate? Looks like all these kits are easy to install too. Nothing I hate more than electrical work especially amps in vehicles.

Where would I mount the amp anyways?

The J&M's have internal amplifiers.

I recently got the Pyle PLMCA60 speakers http://www.pyleaudio.com/itemdetail.asp?model=PLMCA60. Each speaker is 300 Watts and comes with a 600 watt amp. They sound decent. Even at highway speeds I can hear the music. Installation was pretty easy. It took me less than 30 minutes to install it. It comes with a T-Tap module so you don't have to do any splicing. I had to order separate P-clamps as the ones that come with the speakers only work with 1" handle bars. I got the speakers from Amazon for a little over $100 (http://www.amazon.com/PLMCA60-Motorcycle-Amplified-Handlebar-Speakers/dp/B001TE5WRW). For the price its not bad.
