Default 2011 Fatboy Lo Performance start

I'm thinking I need some input on the proper way to upgrade the performance on this bike. I've been a Mec-a-nic on all kinds of stuff my whole life, but never on a Harley, mostly Chevys, GS100ES, ATV, Mud Trucks and Jets. I'm thinking the first up grade should be a ECU add on or flash. Get rid of the factory lean mixture. I've just started lookin into these and need to know which one is best suited to grow along with future mods? Hoping to learn (save some costly mistakes) from some of your past experiences.

The newest rage is the Revolution Performance EMS. I am planning on getting one myself. It is not inexpensive but has an immediate autotune feature that work very well. You might also look into some free flowing pipes and air cleaner at the same time. I can get you most anything you need. Email or PM for more info on anything you may have questions about.

Dr. thanks for reply. Revolution Performance EMS, I am totally ignorant on how these work, can you recommend a good thread that will explain for dummies. I'm going to make these changes one at a time and really note the differences in the upgrades. I'm used to old 1983 Suzuki GS1100ES performance and dout if I'll get anything close to that, but this is a totally different feel for an old Dragstrip guy that hasn't rode much anything for the past 20yrs. LOL, I agree Windshield for winter cold. Check out my photo's for the good stuff.

Just did some reading on the Revolution Performance EMS at their web site. Sounds good, is this the only unit capable of using all the factory ECU inputs (knock sensers and such)? If so I guess they can get whatever price they are asking and they are asking much. Gonna have to hide some money from the wife to get this one, LOL, but if it's worth it, it's worth it. Just for S&G's what would be your second choice?

I can save you some cash on the retail price of the EMS too. I jsut spent all my money on hard bags or else I would have gotten this.

You'll get a lot of good advice. It is good to hear from a "Mec-a-nic".
Sincerely, a former 74 FS World Famous Flying Tigers mec-a-nic
