Default Dealer Discount

I recently purchased my first Harley (Lo) from a local dealer. They offer me 10% off any Harley accessories. Is this a fair deal or should I be doing better on a discount? For example, I wanted the new black LED headlamp. The Harley site shows a MSRP of $525. The dealer sold it to me for $445 (not sure how that's 10% but I assume their normal price is lower than MSRP). Seemed reasonable, but wanted your thoughts. Thanks.

Is this from all purchases ? Or just a one time deal? Texas sales tax is 8.5. So basically you would not pay tax on an item and get 1.5%. Would would be an okay deal. My dealer gave me a 500 HD gift card when I got my bike.

I got 25% for a month after I bought the bike.

You should have had them throw it in when you bought it. 10% is better than no %

My dealer has a VIP program that gives me 10% back. They have double VIP days every-so-often and I wait for those days to get any big ticket items. Bought the black LED headlamp last weekend at the double VIP sale and whined to get another 10% back because the bulb had a mark on it. So I got it for about $350. However its MSRP was only $495...not $525. The nacelle version was $525.

That may be why ($495 msrp). It was actually $445 that I was charged plus tax. The ten percent is always good there. They also took $1000 off the MSRP on the bike and no prep or set up charge, but it was a new 2010. In addition, they threw in 15% off a jacket for my wife. I already made the deal on the bike, but was more curious if 10% off accessories is generally a decent deal. Thanks for your responses.

Its actually 10.1% since apparently it was a $495 msrp. The $525 was for touring models I believe. My mistake.
