Hi, posting for a buddy..he has an 05 heritage. He purchased a used tach from a guy...picture posted. Is anyone able to tell me where each wire hooks? pics appreciated...thanks! Randy
Yep, Red and Black are Positive/Negative for power and Yellow is Signal.
That's the exact Tach I have. My bike is an 06 EFI so I was able to connect the Yellow wire to a the Speedo Plug. There is an unused Pin for the signal and then I used wire taps to get the power under the console as well.
If the bike is Carb then it's a different hookup for the signal.
Take a look at these instructions and see if they help.
Hi Mike i know its ages ago. but i just got this Tach. no problem wireing Negtive and positive / But where did you conect the data wire in the speedometer conector?
my bike is a softail 2005 efi
Thanks
Anthony
I put tach's on my Deuce and RK back in 01 / 02. There should be a loose red / pinkish wire under the console or a red / pinkish wire in a connector that doesn't have an opposing wire in the mating connector. That's where the red one goes. Yellow is power, black is ground.
