I just added the short stand from HD. 1" shorter than stock. My bike is lowered 2" in the front and air ride in the back. $87 for peace of mind is cheap.
I went with the ness and ended up having to shorten that. I have air ride and with my bike lowered all the way, it was damn near vertical, even with the adjustable ness stand in the shortest position. I cut about and 1.5" out of the ness stand and it's perfect now.
I found the mess version on line for $70 but was seeing ifit was necessary...$70 now vs 100's if it topples over....better spend the 70 now ..lol
Yea some bikes do stand up vertical with a lowering kit. This is not the case with the LO. Not all bikes have this issue, only some, depending on how far forward the kickstand is on the bike.
I had every intention on replacing mine, but after slamming her down 3.5"s it had the same lean as when I raise it up to stock within an 1"(air ride).
If I would have put the shorter stand on it, it would have laid it over to far and it would not have set right for me. Just sayin, ya might want to be sure first.
