Ok, got new wheels for my deuce, had issues with bad chrome first on the pulley. Send back. Installed new pulley. Then had issues with belt clearances. Got a smaller spacer for pulley. Got dealer to check everything like alignment and belt tension, get home and notice rubber on my wheel from the tire rubbing the fender. Look from rear and notice the tire is not centered in the fender. No spacers were changed. Now what? Seems like this new wheel set is just not meant to be. By the way. 07 deuce with 18x5.5 rear wheel with 180mm tire.
Btw. I know there are plenty of people runnin this set up. Even people runni a 200mm on a deuce. Anyone know what my issue is???? Getting quite annoyed
The problem is your installer. Everything has to be checked (centered in frame, trans pulley alined with rear pulley, etc) and proper spacers installed to make this happen. I'm running a 18 x 5.5 with a 2007 hub on an 84. As my boss says at work "it ain't the space shuttle". Good Luck
The jam nuts On the belt tensioners were not even tightened. Went to put the axle covers back on and noticed. Startin to think the dealer just charged me to literally just look at my bike andnot actually align and adjust the belt tension.
I guess I will b making some phone calls tomorrow. When I sit on the bike I can hear te tire sweek as it rubs the fender. Ridiculous. I would think thexwheel offset may be wrong or the space between rotor and wheel. I don't know if that is a spacer between rotor and wheel or not. It's about 2.75" and looks like a separate peice.
