I'm new and thanks to anyone who has responded to my previous posts . I've wanted a Harley for ever and really like the Heritage. I can't afford a new one and have been looking early to mid 2000's but have seen a couple of 97's that werered and white and really cool looking. Anybody have or had one and any good things/bad things in that year? There is one near me in Michigan and appears to be very clean. Thanks
There's nothing wrong with those scoots. It's all in how it was taken care of. It can look clean but may not have been serviced properly. Ask for service records and check fluid levels and for leaks. Remember, you can polish a turd but, it's still a turd.. Ask questions and Good luck.
They're actually great bikes. In 97 they had 2 versions, the white & red, and the white & blue. I bought mine new in 97 and just stripped it down this winter. I'll be painting new tins for it very soon as well. But I'll store ALL my stock parts so it can go back to original at any time. They're a great, dependable cruiser for sure. But like most stock H-D's ... especially pre Twin-Cams, they are under-powered pigs! But I love it anyway!
Awesome bike Rich I agree. This is a picture of the one I'm referencing. Thanks for the input. I"m glad to know no major problems. I'll call the guy this weekend and go take a look up close.

Thank you. BTW, what's the asking price & mileage?
