Default Mod questions

Just got a 2002 Heritage, and want to do a couple mods. 1st - want to get the run, turn, stop. any brand to avoid and any problems from state laws for it? Also any problems with the Kuryakyn led gas/battery gauge? Thx for any input. Also anything else sound good? Have Python 3 pipes right now.

Check your own state laws if you never plan on leaving the state. Otherwise, run the red lenses on the turn signals. Some states get tweaked if your running amber brake lights. (which is why the HD RT module has red lenses with it)

I just swapped out my Kury gas gauge/fuel cap combo for the HD flush mount because the Kury crap started to rust. Never in the rain, but the edges started on both sides. Poor quality at best.

As mentioned... check your state laws about color of rear lenses. Don't worry about other states... if you are legal in your state, you may go into other states without reprisal. As far as a gas gauge... I quit worrying what they indicated a long time ago... they are not very accurate for the most part. I know that if I run out to about 225 miles, I will be pushing the bike to the nearest gas station. Run your bike out to empty a few times under different riding conditions and see how many miles you can go... oh, carry a quart or so of gas so you don't have to push. Then you will always know where you stand on gas...
