I'm thinking it's the cut down fenders. I think that's why I liked the Bones to begin with. Over a Heritage Springer I mean. I'm thinking maybe it doesn't look right on the cut down fenders.
Never ask the wife first of all lol! Can you imagine what our sleds would look like if they decided what was in and out for mods.
Rip,
I can see why you are wrestling with this, because your bike looks good now and it would look good with the guard also, but I also agree a front fender swap would be in the mix.

Good luck with whatever your choice is bro!
Shockingly my wife has good ideas. She's the reason I went with the Black Denim over the Vivid Black too.
The only fender swap I see in my future would be the Heartland Kit or go all the way with the Shadetree Bobber kit.
Well....... contrary to the apparent consensus, I am now thinking that the gloss black would look right at home with the bobber-look. I never thought about crash bars until the recent thread. As others, I always thought of them on baggers. If you check out this years HD daily callendar: 3/11, 4/2-3, and 4/5 you see examples of very cool bikes with them. My bike is almost done for this winter, but if I can find a deal on the "Gloss Black" bars, they will be a "mid-year" mod.
I posted in the other thread but am going to throw it out there again... check out BR Customs bars as the meathooks look sweet and serve for functionality. You can get them PC'd in 3 different blacks with satin being on of them. I wouldnt be putting a crash bar on my bike if I didnt come across BR Custom as those ones look bad a$$
