So I am in the process of receiving a set of goods for the Deluxe and called a local Indy to see how much job like this would cost and wanted feedback to those who have done it. I have a set of chrome fork lowers that need to be installed and while in the process I have a Progressive lowering kit for the front as well. I was quoted $550 to do the job. Does this sound reasonable for the amount of work being done? I don't have the means to tackle this myself otherwise I would try so I don't mind paying but this just seemed high. Also around $200 more to install a 21" wheel since he said he would have to modify the front fender, most people didn't know that their lightly rubbing.
On a side note anyone know of good Indy shops here in so cal for service?
Seems like way too much.It should be like a 3 hr job so whatever the hourly rate is 95.00x3=285.00-300.00 like mentioned. The stock springs have to come out any way So just replacing them with the progressives should not be extra.Seems like he is trying to double tap you there. Also if you can swing it put the Ricor Intminators in why its all apart.Well worth the price of admission. They make the front end feel great.I really do not under stand the 200.00 for the wheel. What does the installation of that include? No fender mod required. Lightly rubbing my ****.

+1 on what Malingerer said.
The wheel might be another hour if he has to move the disk over but there should not be any fender issues.
Yeah with the help of Malingerer I located a 21" 25mm wheel off a FXSTC so it shouldnt be too much of a hassle using my spacers, still need to find someone who can true the wheel so it sits under the middle of the fender but that will be done somewhere else.
Those were my thoughts exactly that since the forks would be apart why would it run extra to drop in the progressive kit. Well needless to say I will be calling around and getting additional quotes, just liked that this place was down the street.
Thanks for chiming in and again if anyone know any solid shops possibly inland empire/orange county let me know.
My dealer wanted somewhere's around $480 and that was just to replace the lowers. I had heard that its roughly a 5hr job. Done by the book you take the forks off the bike. I've seen vids and lots of blogs on doing it with the forks on the bike so I plan to try it myself. Good luck!
Go to fire breathing industries in Santa clarita and ask for drew. Great prices and great work.
