Default Softail Deluxe

I'm a first time Harley buyer. Looking to purchase a new Deluxe, not sure if I should put off and check out the 2006 with an option to buy a 2005 leftover if not thrilled with the 06. Does anybody have any suggestions or input?

I doubt there will be a 05 leftover. Desirable bikes tend to sell real quick and the Deluxe is a gorgeous bike. In august 04 I started looking for a XL1200C, but all the 04's were sold out in the area. At the end of the year, there really isn't much left. There was about one big twin left, a handful of sportsters except the custom, and a few vrod's. None of them in the most desirable color options. Unless there's a reason why you would want an 06 or something like that I would buy an 05. Although, that depends on how much you want the bike.

Howdy BGold, welcome to the forum. I don't know how things are where you live, but I wouldn't wait to buy a Harley. When I went into the HD shop a couple of months ago, the dealer told me that Harley was thinking about cutting back on production to keep the prices up and that they might not be getting any more Springers for the rest of the year. I decided to go ahead and buy mine at that time. I've been back there to have service jobs done on my bike and I'm glad that I bought it when I did because I probably wouldn't have a Harley now. The bikes that were left really didn't do very much for me. They are right, the Deluxe is a desireable bike in this area and they might be hard to find if you wait too long. Hope this helps.

Buy now if you can. The prices won't come down and the choices will be slim to none if you wait.
