The primary on my 2010 Fat Boy Lo seems to make a swooshing sound, I have V&H BR 2 into 2's on it and I still hear this over the pipes. Seems like it has been there since day one, bike has 3K on it now. Anyone else expericing this ? is this normal ?
A swooshing sound goes like this, swoosh swoosh, also known as a swooshing sound. It can also be recognized as swish swish, but that would be a swishing sound. The difference here is the "oo" vs the "i", I hope this helps.
I was totally lost until JIMSFBL made it all clear to me.
I had a similar problem not too long ago and it turned out to be something actually stuck up in my drive belt. It sounded as if it were coming from the primary as it was stuck in the same area, but alas, was not the primary.
Does it make the noise when its standing still or only when moving?
If its only happening when its moving you should check to see if the belt guard is rubbing on the drive belt.
If its happening all the time check to make sure there is oil in the primary.
The auto adjuster may not be working properly. After that, I'm lost.

I noticed the same sound on both my '09 Electraglide Standard and my '10 Lo. I think its normal. If everyone got off their bike and listened to their primary, they'd here it to.
