Bare Bones Blues
Just completed a 170 mile round trip. No problems going but comming home my ace was so sore it occupied my mind until I got home. I never feel sore when bar hopping but that ride was a killer. I don't take long trips often but I am also thinking of getting some sort of windshield for my Lo. The plus side of the trip was that the bike was very steady at speed with no front end wobble and I got 45 mpg. Other than getting beat up by the buffeting and the seat it was a great ride to Montauk Point. Maybe I should have sprung for the gel insert.
I don't think the Gel would make that much difference... You get more and more used to it... Sometimes you just gotta pull over and take a minute to walk around your bike and off in the wind again.
I have a bare bones on an older evo softail. The solo doesnt offer much in the way of comfort. If u ride like an a-hole it'll try to push you off the back of the bike!! Been thinkin about a pillion and a bar lately so the lady can keep me on the bike when i'm feelin frisky!
You need another seat for any trips over 100 miles. Switch back to the bare bones around town. The gel insert does nothing,(i have one) The bare bones is a brick! I use a Danny Gray for trips.... as seen in my sig pic, Bare Bones when I'm local
