If there was a busted line it would leak fuel and if it was in the tank you would be able to hear it. Its carbed? If so try making it run richer sounds to me like it might just be running a lil lean.

that was a problem on my 72 shovel haha. This one is fuel injected and I have no Idea what the problem is. I feel like my grandmother the first time she picked up a cell phone. Right now, I am in the process of taking the tank apart. I am going to replace the fuel filter and throw a fuelpak on there and see if it works out for me.

I got the air filter off yesterday, and everything seems to be fine except the air filter being a little dirty. It is kind of funny when you look at them though. You got this massive cover, huge air filter, and then the air goes through that tiny little hole in the top of the intake haha. but it was all still good.

I havent ridden since sunday because I pulled it apart. After I left you guys I was on H1 heading to the house and I was in real bad traffic. In second gear I started slowing down for some cars and it died.... Got it over to the shoulder and it acted like it wasnt going to start. Bout 3 minutes of on and off and trying to start it, it fired up and ran fine the whole way home.

i wouldn't think it would be fuel related since it runs fine on hard acceleration. if it was filter, pump or hole in line, it would starve for fuel at higher rpm since more fuel is needed then more then any other time. i would suspect the idle circuit or like others mentioned a aftermarket fuel management computer.. take it out and see how it runs.

and i can't believe no one has mentioned the ol loose battery cable scenario..

I had the same problem on a 06. After I fueled up it would stay on but if I turned the throttle it would purr as soon I released the throttle it would die. Did all the basic stuff turned out to be the pump.
