Engine cuts-out while riding!
Hey gang, I have a recurring problem on my 1985 Softail FXST (new engine: 5,000 miles with old electronics). My bike will idle GREAT for as long as I want, but the minute I ride away and hit more than 20 mph, it continuously stalls / mis-fires / cut-out. I have completely cleaned and re-built the carb and changed out the fuel filter, thinking there may be a partial blockage somewhere, but no changes. I just tried again and she idled fine for 20 minutes...drive 1/4 mile and starts cutting-out. Any ideas, other than carting it off to the dealer?
