I have one and it's great!
No real adjustment, only side-to-side, no forward/backward movement as it is fastened to your seat bolts. It fits neatly between your stock and pillion seat.
Kuryakyn actuall makes a decent one that is very adjustable.
Forward/backward, up/down, tilt forward/backward, easily removable leaving the mounting hardware on the bike.
Pad is a little small.
I used a different pad on mine, this is not the Kury pad.
I thought about the Kuryakyn one, but I just didn't like the look of the mounting bracket. Went with the Grasshopper; here's a few pics...
My signature pic shows the mounting tab the backrest pad slips into. And no it doesn't poke me in the back...

In the sig pick it kinda looks like a 'French tickler.'
Woooo hooooo!!
I have one, its ok, but on a 2010 Heritage it doesnt fit well around the passenger pillion, so it pushes me a bit too far forward. I only use the pillion on longer trips, my t-bag sits on it, and I've noticed that my t-bag is fairly good as a backrest if I lean back.
But for around town I dont need it, so it wont get used very often, if at all.
Thanks to all for the feedback. Will check out the Kuri as well.
Keithu - Does the design of the unit as it fits on a 2010 push you forward or is the pass pillion pushing the backrest forward. I was working from an impression that this was a static unit.

Cheers
Its the passenger pillion, basically the shape of the arm that the pad is attached to doesnt go around the pad so it doesn't slide all the way into the slot.
It would sit back properly without the pillion on. But for me, the pillion is only off when I'm putting around town, and I dont need a backrest for around town.
