what are the differences between an 03 heritage springer and a 03 springer softail? can the softail be converted to a heritage style? im just lost here because i just had an 03 srpinger softail given to me black anniversary edition with 2900 miles on it just not sure i like the look any input and/or ideas would be a great help....possible a bad boy look ? like i said im lost thanks in advance
If you are after the classic FL springer look, I would say sell the FX and buy an FL springer
Pretty much from the neck back, you can make the FX look and ride like an FL.
Just depends on how much you want to spend for parts and labor.
The front forks are different.
The FL has a different rake and height. The fender has a completely different attachment system.
You can change the FX over to a FL style but parts are getting harder to come by.
If I were you I would ride it for awhile.
See what you like and don't like about it and make changes from there.
Converting one model in to another always is a pain. If its not what you want..... like exactly, put it on ebay, sell it and buy the one you want. I agree that the 10K number is correct and within a thousand or two of what the same FL Springer will cost you. So unless theres some family hand me down attachement, swap motorcycles, not parts.
