07 Recall

From what I have read it, If you have the SERT and have it tuned properly you would not have to lose any sleep over it! my.02 I could be wrong though!

I wonder how this affects my bike with the SERT kit. The bulletin talks about remapping the ECM which is what the SERT does. I'll post the answer when I get it.

The notice went out Nov. 20th. Is it possible your download was for something else?
Maybe because of other mods you did?

I just had the remap or "download" done on my bike a couple weeks ago. I wonder if I still need this update done?

I just had this done today, My heritage Seemed smoother afterwards. I was told that it didnt matter that I had Rush exhaust and stage 1 already done, That the recall down load still needed to be done.

I just had Big Radius pipes, a Ness Bug Sucker, a pre mapped PCIII (FuelMoto) installed and had a dyno tune at the same time on my 07 Deuce. Will having the new download done screw up my PCIII map and dyno improvements? I'd hate to forkout another $300 to have it dynoed again.

That answers my question. Looks like I'm going to have to take my bike back to the dealer this Saturday. I also have the Rush slip-ons, SE air filter kit, and remap. I don't have much faith in my dealership. Can I take my bike to any Harley dealer for the update?

I posted this elsewhere... but have a go....
I really think that some of you guys are hilarious.....
Who of you were around for the 99/00 ECM upgrade, going to the "B" flash????
What about the 04-05 XL ICM Updates (There have been 3, yes 3 of them)?????
You guys are acting like you are the only ones that have ever had this happen.......
HD goes through this all the time...
There are ALWAYS going to be product refinements, updates to firmware/software, updates to applications......
This is nothing new, and you should take it in stride......
Whenever your bike goes in to an HD shop, they are obligated to verify and validate any and all RECALLS, MODIFICATIONS or CAMPAIGNS that are open or awaiting approval on your particular bike....., whether it be an ECM/ICM Update, Stereo update, fender lamp harness, BAS relocation or any number of things that have been ID'd....
Now, you wanna know something really funny.... all of the PC III's that were installed will need to come off, so the ECM can be updated with the proper flash, or it can't be installed... Inherent flaw with the PC III.... Prevents System Information from being processed, but engine data gets through.... Hmmmmmm?????
THEN, you are going to have to retune your PC's as the Baseline ECM programming has been changed, and your settings are going to be off kilter for the PC to modify.....
Take my advice, get your bike to the nearest shop that you trust, get your ECM's updated and stop the madness.....

Well i had this done today.
1. the slight vibration during take off is now gone, things are nice and smooth.
2. the jerks at the dealer left grubby little finger prints all over the rear fender. They didn't bother to clean it up till i raised a little heck over it. Thats why i hate letting anybody touch my bike.
3. I had to wear a helmet since the dealer was in missouri. The worst ride i have ever been on.
So i guess it was worth it[sm=smiley24.gif]
