Default what the ...?

i just picked up a new 2011 deluxe. its throwing a code while driving the bike home. I took it back to the dealer, and its showing on the diagnostic that the compression release isn't working right. (for whatever reason). well...the bike has a 96" and doesn't have compression release on it.. how can this be?

Could this be the wrong ECM on the bike ?
I'm not sure what to think.

yep thats all it is.. a software glitch. the auto compression releases are on the 2012 103" engines. probably programmed for the 2012.

well, i/the service tech thought it was as easy as just reprogramming the ECM.. Not the case, the program was re-loaded multiple times, and every time the bike was restarted the same code shows up.. I

I would think the easiest fix would be for the dealer to swap out your engine for a 2012 103". Then the code should clear.

i would be pretty hot if i bought a new bike, and it threw codes on the way home from picking it up. reckon they be getting it back and i would be shopping for a non fuel infected bike.

Are you saying you bought this bike at a dealership? If so, I'd drop it off and tell em to give you a call when they fix the problem, no charge. Should never have been sold to you if this is the case. Raise a little hell!

You know, I have had more issues off the showroom floor with new vehicles (cars & bikes) than used. So, it's lo mile used for me from now on.
