Default Kickstand down switch

In what year did Harley put the kickstand down switch on? I just noticed on my 08 Crossbones that I can put it in gear with the kickstand down.

Your switch might be stuck if you have one. I have one on my 2009. I added a pic of it. I you have that piece near your kickstand, you got the switch. If it's stuck, spray some contact cleaner on it or so.

The switches were only installed on the bikes for the non-domestic markets:

2008 MODEL YEAR ALL MODELS
NEW Jiffy stand interlock switch
• For HDI, UK and all Police Models meets European regulations
• Motorcycle will not start if jiffy stand is down while rider attempts to start motorcycle in gear
• While running in neutral, if the jiffy stand is not retracted before putting motorcycle in gear, motorcycle will stall
• If jiffy stand drops while rolling in gear, the instruments and tell tale lights will flash and odometer will display message (SidE StAnd)

All years. You'll hear the audible scrape alarm when you make your first left turn. LOL

HEY, United States People

It's only on overseas bikes that have this

guess there kinda slow over there and have to have special safety features.

of course the neutral safety would help me out alot when I am plastard, hard to start while in gear and keep it rubberside down. Thats my sobriety test, if it's still running and upright I'm good
