Default VH Longshots

I want to put VH longshots on my 2006 Fatboy. The saleman in CA said $425 for the pipes and I would not need any engine or air intake mods. The HD guy said $475 for the pipes then $500 for a download and $175 for air intake modification. Who is right? The bike is stock engine, I have just put chrome and seats on it so far. My idea with the VH pipes was to get the top stock pipe below the passenger footpeg. My wife complains that the pipe heats up her foot! The VH pipes look like they both go below the peg. From the factory the peg comes out between the pipes.

Just pipes, no need for anything else. Add an air cleaner and you will need a tuner if it is fuel injected or a rejet if it is carbed.

I have the V&H Longshots on my 1995 FLSTC, I had it dyno tuned
without the baffles and put the Stage 1 kit on. NEVER been happier.

I'm happy with the stock aircleaner. Thanks Dr V. I would rather spend money keeping the wife happy so she keeps me happy...fair trade. I will put on the new pipes then maybe get her some floorboards.

They are both right on prices, but you don't need to spend extra money for the other stuff if you don't want

Pipes only is all you need if you don't change the stock air cleaner.

If you go with Longshots, consider Thunder Monster baffles. The stock baffles are a bit raspy sounding.

the stock baffles have a weird hushing sound when you let off the gas. they were VERY quite, I cut them down to a 1/3 the size and welded it back together. sounds great but still couldn't get ride of the hushing noise. so no baffles for me.
