Default Oil based wood stain

Well, for all of those who read my last post about that gallon of oil based wood stain that fell on my scooter, I am done! My guy at the shop spent about 4 hours on it that night and I spent about an additional 10 hours on it the next day. I got it all off and we used charcoal lighter fluid, which is basically mineral spirits with what is called super high flash naptha in it. I did lose all my upper controls, horn/turn signals/run-stop and start buttons. I consider that NOTHING compared to what it could have been. I did turn a bad thing into a good thing, or the best I could that is. I had ordered the yellow tint and the smoked film for my fog lights and head light about a month ago from LAMIN-X on-line. I had my lights out cleaning in there so I did my lights while they were off. I can now report my scooter is back to it's reagular and normal shiney self again, plus the tint job!!!! It was just that lighter fluid and elbow grease and I lost nothing but those buttons. PLEASE learn a lesson from my misfortune and look and see what you have stored around your bikes. It was such a freak accident and the slighest bump of that shelf and "WHAM", crap all over my baby! You would never know anything ever happened to my bike but it could have been so much more worse then it was. If that shelf would have fallen and me not now it while my bike sat out there with that crap all over it I shudder to think of the damage that could have taken place. I consider myself a "clean freak" when it comes to my bike, my cars and my home. I have a place for everything but from now on NOTHING gets stored within 6 feet of my bike, NOTHING! I want to thank all for your concern and good luck wish's. PLEASE look around and store NOTHING around your bikes,NOTHING!!!

Glad you only lost your switches bro! Your misfortune has served to motivate me even more to get my garage cleared out. As you've probably noticed in some of my post, my garage is hell! I've been doing renovations in the house for 3 years and the garage just caught it all. It sux it was near 70 today and instead of out riding I was working on the garage. Have a Happy New Year!

NC D'lux, learn from me cause I never thought anything like that would happen to me. If you have crap all over in the garage and your bike is in there with it, it is at risk! It sure looks pretty with those new beach bars, hate to see anything happen to it! I swear, my heart was in my throat when I seen that can hit my scooter and then burst open all over it. It was one step below seeing my own kids get hurt!! It was pure panic, shock and disgust all in one in a flat second! I hope that everyone who reads this checks to see if your bikes are at risk, any kind of risk cause if it happened to me it could happen to you! I know what all of these bikes mean to all of you guys. I would rethink how and where your bike is parked and or stored. There is now NOTHING within 6 feet of my bike and nothing above it, nothing below it, PERIOD! I had to learn this lesson but once! If it happens again it will only be from an act of God!
