Default helmets for riding softails

As you see in my sig pic, I like to wear a 3/4 when riding my SOFTAIL. I was looking at leatherup, just browsing helmets and I notice they no longer have the Rockhards. Anyone know what happened to them, that is the helmet I have on in the pic of me riding my softail. I did notice that Outlaw is now making 3/4 helmets. Anyone tried one yet? They claim to not "make you look like an astronaut" I would really like to see pics of someone wearing one. They even have one with built in speakers. All for riding your softail of course....

editing my earlier post, I was thinking of skullcrush when I said they werent DOT. My bad...although in my opinion the outlaws are fugly. Seems like its about time for these people making bike accessories to start listening to what people want. Its not impossible to make a safe helmet that looks good. Maybe we'all should form a company and start makin accessories that are cool and dont cost a fortune. The companies that do make a kick *** product are able to charge double or triple what they are worth because no one else has pulled their head out of their *** to compete with them...ok im done for now haha

Yeah they like to move threads around here sometimes. Maybe because they dont get that this isnt just a section about softails but a home for the guys who ride them. If you post this in another section most of your softail friends will never see it. Its the clan mentality, guys just cant help it...

I myself have been considering a 3/4 helmet just for the speaker capability. I dont want big clunky speakers on my bike blaring my music in everyone's face (riding buddies that is... f' the cages)

I didnt see the outlaw helmets yet, did you look at the measurements?

My guess is they will not fit low like my DOT Outlaw carbon fiber 1/2 helmet because the 3/4 are abs and looks like more padding in the pics. Just a guess. Would like to see pics also.

First is a good looking helmet, great price for it, the helmet is a bigger than the usual helmet but is ok. Overall is very good for the price that you paid.

Great helmet for the money. Very comfortable. Cool retro styling is a big plus. Doesn't lift at high speeds. Is a little big so expect to look a little like an astronaut... but at least you will look like a cool astronaut.

Love my helmet. Fits true to size. A little bubbly but it's dot so it's worth it! Still not a complaint though. Leather up is by far thr best website I have ever ordered from! Thanks alot! Also the gold flake is AMAZING.

I recall from that 1834 page DOT Helmet thread awhile back that a lot of people had customer service/shipping issues with LeatherUp..maybe Rockhard pull their line from that supplier, because Motorcycle-superstore.com still has them

Brett I would suggest looking at Biltwell...They make a good DOT helmet *Hustler* and then they make the novelty 3/4 helmets. I had one custom one painted that I absolutely love. It fits very comfortable and doesnt look bad either.. They come in flat colors, their MegaFlake, and gloss...I would suggest checking them out

Yeah, my thread about picking up a pinstripe brush again got moved. I only post that stuff in here because a handful of you guys have been following since I started striping. Anyway.....

I like my Rockhard, and I plan to do some paintwork on a helmet, but I know I will still want a plain one for when I am in the mood to tone it down if that makes sense. The Outlaw listed on leather up is listed as DOT, I didn't see the reviews that were posted here, but I looked at one for a different color on their site and they were a little mixed. My big concern is that it will be shaped funny for my grape. I had gotten one of those real low profile Outlaws and it gave me a hot spot on my forehead, just like the Licks NOVDOT does. I tried both L and XL. Hopefully someone will grab one up and post a review. Thanks guys.....
