Unhappy inflating tires

Just bought me a new air compressor and thought i would try it out by putting air in my fat boy lo tire's, they were a few lbs low. Well it turned out i couldn't get air in the tire's at all, when i put the connection on the valve stem it would not put air in the tire at all. When i press the fitting off the valve stem there's a lot of pressure that comes out but nothing when it's on the stem. It's got me puzzled the regulator shows 150lbs tank pressure and 110 working pressure. Could it be i have the wrong type of air fitting to fill the tire or it takes the regular car tire fitting that's what i thought it takes. It's the first time i try to put air sense i bought the bike. Any input would be appreciated.

My wife's FB is a pain to fill

It's probably the device your using to fill with

I ran over to harbor freight and picked up the simple brass rounded nozzle to fit onto the small but ridged valve stem on the fb wheels

It sounds like your fill device isn't being seated all the way onto the valve stem. It needs to go on far enough to depress the small valve in the center of the stem. A different fill fitting on your pump may help out. Sounds like the FB may be different than most HDs.

Had the same problem, have 3 different air chucks to use. 1 of them would only put air in the pickup out of 5 vehicles. It found a new home in the field after removing the fitting.
Like said before just get you another air chuck to use.

Thanks guy's I'll try that. I was trying to post a pic. of the fitting I'm using but can't seam to upload it. I do notice the valve stem is very thin compared to a car's stem. Maybe the piece in the fitting is missing the valve stem altogether if that makes any sense.
