Just wanted to see what you guys think of the deuce. I bought this with major chrome problems dissassembled it and changed some things up. alot of sandblasting and powder/paint and this is what I came up with. most of the black is actually VHT wrinkle. luggage rack is wrinkle powder and various parts are 20%gloss black.
It looks good with the Grape color. Kind of softens the 'jelly bean' look.
That's not an insult, I actually like the color.A riding buddy has an '01 the same color. It's a sharp looking bike, especially in the bright sunlight.
Thats what im thinking too. I was on a tight budget for the basic rebuild phase. so now the aditional customizing will begin. My front wheel is kinda pitted (not much) so will have to replace it anyways. Havent decided on PC black mag of some sort or try to find a polished to match the back wheel a bit. If i go black on front Ill just pull the back and PC it myself.
Black is the best color, you just turned the deuce into a nice bike! Welcome to the riding club, you'll enjoy it more than the cleaning club. You'll be 150 miles down the road by the time your buddies are done shining all their bling!
It's always interesting to see what others do with this platform. I'll agree that the Deuce is a chrome throne and could use a tone down, but if I were to go to the other extreme I would black it all out. I like what you've done though and you certainly have a unique Deuce there. Well done, Dennis.
I hate chrome. In the next couple of weeks, I'm getting the stg II kit installed and at that time I'm taking the rockers, the cam cover, the transmission cover, and the primary cover to get powder coated flat black.
Eventually I'll get the dash, oil tanks, and other chrome bits coated. The last part is going to be the forks when I have to lower the front for the new 23" fat spoke wheel.
