Life sux for me and my Softail Heritage Classic...
For the first 500 miles, I babied her and constantly changed engine speeds along with all of the other initial break-in procedures/techiniques... Then 500 miles came and I could ride her like she was meant to ride. I just pulled into the garage and noted the mileage at "923". Ten days after I got her and she will have to go "away" to the HD boys for her 1,000 mile check up.
It'll seem like months before I get her back... Man this scoot rocks!
Yea, I know how you feel. When I got my bike, between working and weather, I wasn't able to ride very much just short trips. As soon as the weather would let me ride more, I had to get my bike serviced. Thankfully it only took a couple of hours out of my day and I was able to hit the road again.
If you haven't taken it in yet, tell them you need to wait for it. The 1000 mile service takes less than 3 hours. Thats why HD only charges 3 hours labor. Here it cost $150 for the 1000 mile service. I waited for mine...... Doc
