HD LED Headlamp Help Please!!!
I installed this thing the other day on my night train. My stock headlamp setting was fine and when I put the LED in the light didn't even hit the road until about 15 feet in front of my bike. So I tilted it down a little. This severely shortened the distance that the light covered. It looked like different brightnesses of light hitting the road in front of me with the brightest only being about 4 feet long. The light projects wide but not deep. I'm wondering if the bulb in the assembly is turned wrong. It looked like four horizontal bars hitting the road and only projected about 20 feet in front of me. Is there a sweet spot and are the adjustments that sensitive where it has to be perfect. So far this thing isn't working for me. I tried my best to explain it.
Are you sure you got the correct bulb for your bike? This is the one for you: http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
I have it in my LO and it was just a plug and play install. Very easy. The light goes way further than my stock bulb did and much more to the sides as well. There shouldn't have been any adjusting necessary. I'm thinking you may have gotten the wrong bulb for your model?

Another reason why I may think it is defective is when the light hits the garage wall, it looks like a smiley face. A straight line on top and a half circle on the bottom half. Does anyone else's do this or does it look like a complete circle?
Kinda sounds like something's not right inside the bulb w/yours (defective). Maybe time to do a return/swap & see if this fixes the problem.
Maybe yours has the "happy face" option...

That's correct. That's how it works. The top line should be just below the eyes of oncoming traffic. I keep my high beams on during the day and have to use the lows at night. It's just way too bright to run the high beams in traffic at night.

I'm going to play with it tonight. Going to take it over to a dark parking lot after work and tinker up and down with it and see if that's the problem. If I can't get it adjusted right, I'm returning it.
