I've now had my '12 heritage for a week now. Please tell me if the stock pipes loosen up a little (sound quality) with some mileage, or if I am only hearing something I want to hear. I've only put 140 miles on her. Thanks.
Thanks. Wishful thinking! Will check out the V&H. Was ready to pull trigger on the Rush slip ons at purchase of bike but had already blown my budget. So decided to wait until 1k service. Only 860 miles to go!
Looking for "medium" volume & "nice" growl. Any suggestions that do not include an exhaust system are very welcome.
Think long term... Don't waste money on slip-ons because they will never be just right, and you will see them sitting on a shelf in a year or so anyways... Live with the stock ones until you can afford the real deal. It will also give you some time to look around and talk to people and figure out what you really want in the end. Learn from my mistakes, lol. I'd offer to sell you my old SE slipons, but you really don't want them...

For the price of the Rush slip ons, you can get a full Rush crossover exhaust system at J&P Cycles. I bought a set for my 2012 heritage 2 weeks ago. You'll need a 18mm to 12mm bushing for the o2 sensor. They look and sound great. AL http://www.jpcycles.com/product/443-472
Brother, I feel lucky. I have had my new to me 07 Deluxe for about 5 weeks now and I really like the sound and volume level of my stock pipes. Good thing too, because I could not afford to buy new ones right now even if I could not stand the sound.
