Default Engine Dilemna ?

Found myself a 04 Softail Converted Trike with 3500 miles. Would like to add some more Cubes.Should I go the 95" BB route or put a 06 CVO Screaming Eagle Engine in her that I have access to? Which will give me more Bang for the Buck. The CVO will be around $2000.

Thanks

If you do a 95" with head work you will make more power

yea but he said bang for buck. I don't think he could build a 95 for $2000 could he?
I would say the CVO motor would be a bolt in and go with less expense so IMO would be more bang for your buck

But I'm new here????

Joe What

Would that 96" fit in the Heritage since the Softail has a "B" Engine that is not Rubber-Mounted??

for what it is, thats a damned good deal on a cvo motor. but disregarding the cost/time of removing and installing the motor (because you will do that with both options) i dont see why you cant do a 95" for about 2k... cams, cylinders, and mild headwork would cost you about that with the motor already out. Ive ridden a nice 95" build and a stock 110 just couldnt keep up..

agreed, if you have a similar disorder as myself and many other members "faster just makes you want to go faster" then the 110 will give you more potential down the road once you get used to your upgrade and want to drop another 2 grand in it

There is no doubt that a complete CVO engine for $2000 is way more bang for the buck than $2000 worth of parts (IF the CVO motor is in good condition). There's also a lot of labor involved in building the current motor.

If you buy a complete motor, you can sell the current motor for several hundred dollars to recoup some of what you pay for the other motor. Seems like a no brainer to me as to which way is the best value.

As far as putting an A motor in a Softail frame, it would take a huge amount of modification/fabrication to the frame to make that work. Not a realistic option.

The deal on the 06 CVO S.E Engine is pretty well done! The guy forgot that included was the Throttle Body/Manifold,Computer/ECM,and Race Tuner. What can I do to the Engine to wake it up or is it pretty much woken up ?? What would be a FAIR price to ask for a 04 88B engine with 36K miles? All Valued Replies will be Deeply Appreciated !
