Exactly what I was looking for - I'll have to go over there and try to contact some of those guys.

Sent him an email, thanks for the info. I'm guessing it's pricey but I'll see what he says.

I sent them an email too, but looks like the only tank they carried isn't available anymore.

Took a look at this one too, the size is right but they say it's only for carbed bikes.

The easiest way, if it works, would be just to buy a used take-off 1200 sportster tank, but I'm not sure it'll fit over my frame, or even if the pump is strong enough for the twin cam. The search continues!

Rockerbox66 did it, Cole Foster tank, sportster pump. He welded the guts of the sporty to the Cole tank. Ever thought about converting to carb?

Yeah, I have. I'm trying to avoid completely tearing this bike apart but I'm already halfway there anyway, so a carb conversion might happen at some point. If I do that, I can do a kick-start too. The ignition module that most guys use for the carb conversion is the hurdle for me price-wise (700 bucks: http://www.amm.haan.de/P3/order.html). Everything else is inexpensive to do the change. On the other hand, getting a sportster tank, with a fuel pump, might wind up being the same price anyway. At least with a carb setup I can run whatever tank I want.

Just found this post:

He eventually went with the Cole Foster tank, but he did use the stock nightster fuel pump - which is awesome.

Yep, the Sporty fuel pump works great on the Big Twin. Here's one that I've done:

I know, I know, to each his own. That tank just does not fit the bike. It looks too small and oddly shaped. Weirdly out of proportion. I have to commend folks for their ingenuity, craftsmanship, and mechanical know-how. It is not easy to do what you are doing.

I understand that you are going for a different look, and I respect that. I would think that there must be a custom tank maker that has a shape you like more than the stock tank that fits the frame size and shape. This from the other post that HRK123 linked to that would achieve the look you are going for, but fits the frame:

Hey, maybe I'm just out of touch with what looks cool. Best of luck with your project.

LOL, that's the same bike. The owner had placed a Nightster tank on his bike (your pic), and didn't like the look, so had me build a custom tank.

Cory at MainDrive is a stellar fabricator and top notch to work with. I had him do 2 Softster tanks now. Couldn't ask for a better product! You wont be disappointed!
